Self-Worth Tarot Spread

Self-Worth Tarot Spread

Every morning as part of my spiritual practice, I pull cards from my home in Vancouver. Tarot readers create unique spreads to help get the most of their tarot decks, to enter into a deep conversation with their decks and to uncover more.

I had been on Instagram before going to my deck one morning. I saw that Emerald Lotus Divination had a self-worth tarot spread. It spoke to me and I really wanted to try it instead of my usual one or two card morning pull.

It felt important to share this private reading for myself with you so that you can glimpse into my own journey of worthiness and self-love. I know there will be some medicine here for you as well.

Here’s what her spread looks like:

Here’s what my spread looked like, let’s dive into it now.

Son of Cups

How I see myself

I see myself as at the early stages of a journey but full of potential. I’m ready to bring all I’ve discovered about my inner emotional world out into the real, big world to make my mark.

I see myself as a creative type, able to support myself in the world (especially financially) with my creative gifts. I’m eager to make my mark on the world and have others see and admire my works. I think that others see me as mysterious, possibly even intense.

Six of Swords

How I speak to myself

I have an exasperated tone with myself. I’m very over my own inner conflict and ready to walk away. My stubbornness has lead to an impasse in which there are no winners and the only hope for reconciliation is to move on.

And yet, see the rainbow in the card, there is hope on the horizon, although I do have to leave a part of myself behind in that pile of swords on the bottom. It’s time to support myself, treat myself like a best friend, like a gentle sweet someone, like a treasure — rather than a combatant.

Daughter of Wands

How can I remind myself that I am worthy?

The daughter of wands is another creative type, but she’s got more spunk and is even brazen. I can remind myself that I’m full of FIRe, of energy and potential and will succeed at anything I attempt.

The snake on the card, the figure eight, remind me of transformation. Evolution — this is a reminder to myself that I’m in the midst of a huge shift right now and only good things are coming.

Two of Pentacles

How can I practice loving myself?

Changes, balance, moderation, finding the right mix of work and play — sometimes overindulging in one to correct with the other. Practicing healthy boundaries and staying focused on ourselves.

Pentacles are also the suit of earth/money so I can practice loving myself by doing grounding practices.

The Devil

How can I admire my beauty?

Ending this on a spicy note! The Devil represents anything that takes us away from our true selves. Vices, unhealthy habits or obsessions, negative thinking, doing things that we know take us away from our goals but we can’t help but do them anyway.

I feel trapped and unable to admire my own beauty. Trapped by my negative self-talk, by my conditioning, and by this goal or vision of how I should be and chastising myself for not being there.

Definitely a lot of healing that needs to happen here regarding acceptance.
